After This Long, What Isn't New?!?

Wow... I can't believe it's been almost a month since I last updated! You guys must be chomping at the bit for an update (but surprisingly, I haven't heard a single complaint yet) - so here you go!

Given we have been having nicer weather (with the exception of this past weekend, of course), Maja has taken her "Coffee with Baka" dates outside a bit. Instead of getting together at Loblaws (ahem... sorry, Loblaw Great Food - what's with that anyway?!?), Maja & Bakica are now walking down to the local Tim Hortons. Bakica loves it because she gets to show off Maja to the locals, Maja loves it because Bakica buys her donuts and Marvin & I love it because we get a bit of time to ourselves! What a great deal for everyone! Here's a shot of Bakica & Maja (and Winnie too) heading out for coffee in style...

As you may or may not know, Maja is quite the Dora fan these days (along with Princesses - Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the list goes on!). So to help fuel Maja's obsession, Bakica bought Maja a cool Dora clock for her bedroom (which Maja loves!). Here's a shot of Maja getting acquainted with her clock (I think she was actually talking to it here)...
After just over a month of not seeing each other, Maja was finally able to coordinate her busy social life with her BFFs (Christine & Dash)! They were all very excited to see each other... Maja & Christine embraced with a squishy hug in the driveway and Dash showed off by walking around the backyard all on his own (I can't believe how much the two of them have grown since I last saw them). We were lucky enough to have a nice sunny day for their play date, so we headed outside. Here's a shot of Maja drawing some art for us with her new found love, sidewalk chalk...
And of course, what would a play date be without a group shot where no more than one child looks at the camera at a time?!? Well, here's the best I could get that afternoon...
After taking a quick (and I mean quick nap) to recover from all the play date excitement in the morning, Maja headed out front, with Pedro & Monkey in tow, to watch the "ek-ka-vator" (aka excavator) dig up our neighbour's driveway (we sure won't be surprised if Maja decides to get into construction when she's older)...
This year, to celebrate Mother's Day, Marvin & Maja made me breakfast in bed... homemade chocolate chip pancakes (or polka dot pancakes as I call them in front of Maja - I don't want her knowing you can put chocolate in things - more so I can keep all the chocolate to myself!). After having a great breakfast with my two favourite people, it was time to get ready for our brunch with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie, Mike, Will, Graham, Peter & Anna in Mississauga. As usual, it was great to see everyone again and of course the food was yummy too! We all had a good time. Unfortunately, Maja was coming down with a new cold and fell asleep in the car on the way there. But, at least I got a cute photo of her asleep on Marvin's shoulder as we waited for our table...
After her nap that day, it was time to pack up and head down to the Distillery District downtown with Teta Linda & Bakica for another Mother's Day treat. Dispite the cooler weather, we all had a great time wandering around from building to building (especially the chocolatier), chasing birds, and petting stone garden puppies. Here's a nice shot of Bakica, Teta Linda, Maja & Marvin hanging out after eating some yummy gelato...
On our way home from downtown, I checked my cell phone for messages and lo and behold there was one from Sara. She & Nick had a baby girl that morning! What a great present to Sara (and her Mother - Sheri's first grandchild) for Mother's Day! So we headed out to Mississauga to visit the latest addition to the world - Melody Prairie-Anne, who weighed a whopping 8lbs 14oz and stretched out at 21.5inches long...Isn't she a cutie?!? Congarts to both Sara & Nick on their beautiful little girl!

Yesterday afternoon, Marvin, Maja & I headed downtown to visit Teta and to go to the circus down at the Harbourfront. Although it was a bit breezy and a bit chilly, we still managed to have a great time. Here's a shot of Maja hanging out on Marvin's shoulders watching a couple of clowns have a water balloon fight (she was so serious the whole show - she didn't crack a smile once)...

Then we headed back to Teta Linda's for some yummy birthday cake (my birthday was on Sunday), chocolate chip ice cream and delicious chocolate milk - thanks again Linda! Pretty much as soon as we arrived, Maja found Teta's Pedro and had a firm grasp on him the whole time we were there. She even got Pedro to play the guitar with us...
Just before we left, Maja wanted to go streaking (a new favourite past time that usually takes place just prior to bath time these days). Instead of getting fully in the streaking, it was just from the waist down. Here's a cute shot of Maja peering through Teta's blinds checking out the downtown traffic in her onesie...
Oh yeah, and one more thing that's happened lately is that both Marvin & I started working flex-time (this means that we're working every other day from home). I am now walking a mile in Marvin's shoes as I'm back at work and Marvin is walking a mile in my shoes as he's home running after Maja all day. So far we all seem to be surviving. The only noticeable side effect of all this is that Maja has turned into quite the Daddy's Little Girl. She wants to go potty on "Daddy's potty", or use "Daddy's soap" when she washes her hands, or wear "Daddy's jersey". I love it! :)

And because you have all been so patient (both by reading this far into to update and for waiting so long for an update), here are three short videos for you. This one is Maja & Bakica hamming it up on the couch just before heading out for coffee one day...

This one is Maja showing how she loves to turn into "limp baby" whenever she walks with Teta Linda & Bakica these days...

And finally, this is Maja & Pedro playing guitar at Teta Linda's place yesterday afternoon...
