Proud Momma & Poppa...

Maja had a busy weekend with lots of visitors and visiting others, and Marvin and I want to let everyone know that we are soooo proud of our little Maja! Maja welcomed new people and people she hadn't seen in a while wonderfully (and usually full of smiles) and was also able to nap outside of our house not once, but twice! Overall we had a great weekend and are more in love with our daughter than before (I wouldn't have thought that was possible, but lo and behold...)!

On Friday we found out that Sara accepted a new job! Yippee! And although getting a new job is exciting in itself, Maja & I have to admit that we are equally (if not more so) excited about getting to spend the next two weeks with Sara before she starts in May! :) Congrats again Sara!

On Saturday morning, Maja and Teta sat down for their usual Saturday morning chat on the bed upstairs (sorry, no nudie photo shoot this week). They chatted about life in general, what they had planned for the upcoming week, how the week had gone since they last chatted, and reminisced about how Maja visited Teta at work back in November and met Barba Frank and Dororthy. That got Maja thinking about how now would be a good time to show Teta what she has learned so far in her German classes and asked Teta to pass along a message to Barba Frank. Now, Teta is a smart cookie in a lot of ways but just between you and me, she's not so good at German apparently! :) Instead of entrusting the message with Teta, Maja thought she'd pass the message along to Barba Frank directly...

(for those of you out there who can't read German... the sign above says "Bet you didn't know I could speak German did you?").
And the sign in this picture above says "I hope you have a good week Barba Frank" - loosely translated of course! :) Maja also heard some very exciting news about Dorothy... Dorothy is preggers! Yup - Maja couldn't be more excited about Dorothy's news and wants to let her know that she's hoping Dorothy has a baby with blonde hair and blue eyes just like her! Congrats Dorothy!

Then Saturday afternoon/evening, our friends Megan & Tom came over to catch up - it had been almost a full 5 months since we had seen each other (way way too long!) and it was so nice to finally see each other again. The evening was filled with lots of laughs (giddiness seemed to take over the evening once Maja went down for the night), junk food and of course, a good ol' fashioned butt-whipping by Megan & I against Tom & Marvin in the game Sequence (ok, so we beat them 4 games to 3... or 5 games to 4... I can't remember - the important part was that the gals won)! Here is a nice shot of Megan & Tom with Maja when they first arrived (Maja seems a bit distracted by Tom though)...
Sunday morning when Maja woke up from her nap, she thought she'd play a quick game of peek-a-boo behind the bumper pads. Here is a shot of her in mid-peek...Sunday afternoon was a big day for Maja's friend Emily - she was baptized! Marvin & I are honoured to be Emily's Godparents - here is a shot of our pretty little Goddaughter grinning in the church and showing off her fancy dress...
After the church, we all headed back to Doug & Anna's place for some yummy home cooked Italian food courtesy of Anna's mom (Maja's third grandma, Nona Z)! And what better way to unwind from a busy day of getting baptized?!? Yup, you guessed it - sit back and savour a nice cold beer...
Here is a shot of Marvin holding Maja who was completely occupied by the balloons (with Shirley & Bob watching on)...Here is a shot of me "walking" Maja around the basement trying to burn off some of her energy (she worked up such a sweat that we had to take off her turtleneck)...
And at the end of it all, Maja wanted to make sure that she passed along her congrats to Emily herself. Here is a shot of Maja & Emily kissing (ok so Maja still has a thing or two to learn about kissing... most of all that sucking the other person's nose isn't kissing)...
