7 Months Ago Today...

I can't believe Maja is 7 months old today - it's amazing how fast times flies! As I start this update, 7 months ago Maja was only 2 hours and 5 minutes old. I can't believe it. Wow! So how did Maja spend her 7-month birthday? She was a very busy lady... today she had one visitor for each month of her life! First, Grandma came by for a quick visit this morning while she was out and about. Second, Sara stopped by to see us on her way downtown early this afternoon. Third and fourth, Casey and her son Liam came by so we could go for a walk and enjoy the beautiful day we had. Fifth, Ann (one of our neighbours) came over to say "Hi" when Casey, Liam, Maja and I returned from our walk. Sixth, Teta Linda came by for one last Maja-fix before she leaves for her cruise (she didn't think she was going to be able to make it not being able to see Maja for 3 whole weeks). And seventh, Bakica stopped by for "a quick peek", as she says. :) Like I said, a busy, busy day for Maja today.

As I mentioned in my last update, we bought a new camera on Monday and I have to say I've finally truly become my mother's daughter! Today I took 131 photos! Can you believe it?!? I think when my mom heard that a small proud tear of joy rolled down her cheek! :) I just loooove my new toy! :)

Just on a side note... this morning when I woke up I really didn't have any spunk. Maja was up a total of 8 times in just over 12 hours (you do the math...) which was the straw that seemed to break the camel's back for me after having her be out of sorts pretty much all week - ever since last Sunday when she had a fever. But, just when I started to feel sorry for myself, I had 5 angels (excluding my sweet daughter) come to me to make me feel better. As soon as Marvin (my wonderful husband) saw that I was having a rough morning, he offered to stay at home from work so he could take care of Maja for me (even though he's really busy at work). Then my mom called to see if I was up for a visit sometime today (it's almost like she knew I needed a bit of a lift today - mother's intuition I suppose). Then I spoke to Casey on the phone and told her that I was backing out of our date with Alina & David and Tracey & Gabriel because both Maja and I weren't feeling up to it. Casey then suggested that maybe she and Liam could come over after lunch so I could get out of the house. Now although I have only known Casey for a short while, I feel like I have known her for a long time. I really appreciated her offering to drive out our way so we could still spend the afternoon together. It did a lot to lift my spirits - thanks Casey! Then Teta Linda called to say that she was going to stop by this afternoon to see Maja and I, which is always nice. Then Sara called to say that she would be stopping by again today if I was up for it. Like I said, just when I started to feel sorry for myself, 5 different people made me feel special. So thank you to all of you!

As I mentioned before, Casey & Liam came by this afternoon for a walk. We ended up walking for just over 2 hours - I had such a great time chatting, walking and enjoying the weather. Here is a shot of Maja & Liam as we were just about to head out...

And of course, what would feel better at the end of a long, busy day? A nice warm bath and a cool hair style (a-la-Teta-Linda, in her honour)...
