What Happened to the Sun(day)?

I thought today was supposed to be mild (8 degrees or so) and sunny, but that's definitely not the case here in Etobicoke. :( So instead of having that chipper sunny feeling we usually get on those types of days, were sitting here kind of blah right now. At least tomorrow will be nice... oh wait a minute, nope not tomorrow either - it's supposed to rain and thundershower. At least I find thunderstorms cozy (when I'm inside and dry that is).

Anyhow, today started off with a nice nap from Maja (about 1.5 hours - with a little encouragement from me 1/2 way through) and some yummy oats! I'm excited about Maja eating the oats because ever since she was sick a week ago, we've had a hard time keeping solid foods in her (she's still not too fond of the yams that she loved only a short while ago). Slowly but surely we'll get back onto our old solid food routine... baby steps! Here is a picture of Marvin and Sophie keeping Maja occupied until the yams and oats were warmed...
Here is a shot of Maja part way through the oats feast (obviously not too pleased with being interrupted for a quick photo opp)...
After we were sure the yams and oats were firmly inside Maja's tummy, she and I headed to Mississauga to the Safety Superstore to shop for a new carseat (she's almost too long for the one she has now). I've heard good things about this store and was quite excited to finally be able to make my way out there. This store has absolutely everything related to babies that you could ever imagine! Although I went there looking for a car seat, I didn't end of getting one. There was just too much information for me to make a decision on the spot, so Marvin and I will be heading back there later in the week together (two sleep deprived brains are better than one). But just because I didn't end up buying a car seat doesn't mean I didn't buy anything! I found the cutest little pair of soccer Robeez for Maja (unfortunately they didn't come in Marvin's size)!

After my impulse purchase (I mean necessary footwear purchase for our future soccer star...), Maja and I headed over to Grandma & Grandpa's place for a quick visit. When we arrived, Grandma was still at church so we hung out with Grandpa and his friend Robin. Unfortunately, they were chatting about amateur radio stuff and we didn't understand a word they were saying. But we both were sure to smile and nod at appropriate times so as not to appear rude or disinterested! :) Then Grandma came home and she quickly scooped up Maja and made her grin. Here is a shot of the action...

After we came back from Grandma & Grandpa's, Marvin, Maja and I went out for a short walk (about 20 minutes) around the neighbourhood. Right now Maja is napping (and as I look over to the couch on my left, I see that Marvin is also napping...) but will soon be up. At that point we'll head upstairs, have some nice play time in front of the fire we'll start up (like I said, it's not that mild here in Etobicoke)!
