I'm Growing Again!
Because Maja was sick last week, she hadn't been herself and then she developed a rash across her bottom and waist, we thought it would be a good idea to take her in to see the doctor just to be safe. Of course by the time the day of the appointment arrived, Maja was no longer sick, she was back to her normal chipper self and her rash was pretty much gone! So when then doctor asked what brought us in to see her, I'm sure she thought to herself "Oh... another case of a paronoid first time mother... sigh"! Oh well... at least I found out that she's ok and we got to weigh and measure her again. Since her last visit (Feb 23 - just over a month ago), Maja has gained 14 ounces (almost a full pound) and grown 1/2 an inch (so now she's 17lbs 10oz and 28 inches tall)! I guess the solid foods are helping out. To help out with entertaining Maja (and so both Maja and Bakica could spend some time together), Bakica joined us for the ride to the doctor's office. Here is picture of Maja with Bakica in the waiting room at the doctor's office (I love this photo of the two of them)...
Yesterday afternoon, Maja, Grandma and I headed off to the One of Kind Craft Show in Toronto. But before we left, we had to fill Maja up so Grandma got the pleasure of feeding Maja bananas then barley cereal mixed with prune juice. It's so neat to watch Maja eat these days (she actually opens her mouth now and swallows as opposed to us trying to entertain her into opening up her mouth and letting the very liquidy food slide down her throat like we used to do)! Anyhow at the Craft Show, it was neat to walk around and see all the cool craft things that I often find over priced and think "Hey, I could make that myself (but never do)", but most of all I enjoyed spending time chatting with my mom. I always enjoy that - thanks mom!
Today our plans include a visit from Bakica, some laundry, some more food (today's menu: bananas followed by wheat cereal mixed with prune juice topped off with a couple sips of water), and then a trip to Queen Street in Toronto. Marvin said Maja was able to go just as long as she promised not to get tattooed or pierced while we were there... I'll try to restrain her! :)
