At least that's my theory as to why it's taken me so long to update the blog... ok so maybe not - we've just been really busy this past week. So let's take a walk down memory lane to see what we've been up to the past little while.
Well, last Tuesday (a week ago today) Maja and I went to visit Jonika (Auntie Sandra's childhood best friend) and her daughter Isabel, along with Grandma, Auntie and the gang of cousins (Will, Graham, Peter and Anna). We had a great time catching up and comparing baby notes. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of that visit yet because I forgot to bring my camera and I haven't downloaded the ones that Grandma took.
Then after we got home, Maja had a quick nap to rest up for her first ever "swimming" lesson! To be honest, there wasn't really a lot of swimming going on more just getting used to the water, but I think she still had fun. We "swam" around on our front, on our back (not Maja's favourite), in a circle singing with the other kids, "jumped" off the edge and got dunked twice (much to the horror of Marvin and Bakica watching from the side lines)! At this age kids have a reflex that makes them inhale when you blow into their face. So, I counted to three, blew in Maja's face then dunked her under the water with me. The look of shock and confusion on her face when I brought her up was priceless, but don't worry... she didn't inhale any water and was fine after about 30 seconds (just a side note... we went "swimming" again tonight and she was dunked again... a bit of tears but again was fine after about 30 seconds). Anyhow, here are two shots that Grandma took tonight of Maja walking into the water...

Here is a shot of Maja and I last week...

I can't really remember much from Wednesday or Thursday (other than we had Salsa Babies and did some grocery shopping...) so I'll skip ahead to Friday. This past Friday was Good Friday so Marvin and I headed to mass in the afternoon while Bakica and Teta watched Maja and made Easter bread (a tradition that Teta remembers fondly of her childhood). Saturday morning Maja had yet another photo shoot in her bedroom (due to the nice sun shining in the window and her being extra cute when she woke up that morning...). Here is a shot that Teta took of me and Maja (gotta love the crows feet and multiple chins that made an appearance for this photo)...

Of course, what would a photo shoot be without a nudie shot (or two) of Maja?!? Here is Maja's naked impression of "The Thinker"...

Here is a shot of Teta holding what she referred to "a squishy naked bundle of goodness"...

Saturday night, Bakica was nice enough to bring dinner to our place so we could have some good ol' fashioned home cooking for our Easter dinner. Then on Sunday, Maja started the day with a visit to Bakica at her place. Here is a shot of Maja checking out the chocolate chicken and the Easter bread braid she got from Bakica for Easter...

After visiting Bakica, we then headed off to Mississauga to Grandma & Grandpa's place. There was a full house - there was Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie, Uncle Mike, Will, Graham, Peter, Anna, Great Uncle Ron, Great Uncle Peter, Maja, Marvin and I. Here is a shot of Maja saying "Hello" to Anna (I think we'll have to have a chat with Maja about eating other people... this is not the first time we've seen this happen - I'm sure her friends and relatives are tasty people, I just don't think it's the right time for munching them)...

Because Sunday was a bit hectic and Grandma didn't really have a chance to hang with Maja, Grandma came to visit for a couple of hours on Monday. Again, because of the nice sunshine and the cute Granddaughter, another nudie photo shoot took place. Here Maja is inspecting the bunny that her Great-Grandma (Grandma's mom) left for her before she passed away (just over five years ago)...

Here Maja is inspecting the blankets around her...

Here Maja sees something of interest outside the window...

After the nudie photo shoot, it was time to get dressed and head downstairs to have another shoot down there. Here Maja is checking herself out in the mirror...

Ok this one is out of order, but I can't figure out how to easily move it... another nudie shot of Maja, but this time "raspberrying" us (her latest trick - she learned it from her cousin Anna I think)...

This shot was taken this morning while Maja waited for our friends Stephanie, Christine and Dashiell to arrive for our walk to the park. Maja has now discovered (with a little of encouragement from me) that the bucket (aka the Magic Soup Bowl) also makes a great hat...

Here is a shot of Christine on the swing at the park...

Here is a shot of me and Maja...

A shot of Dash (if you look closely you may actually be able to see a bit of his chin - he was very well bundled up)...

And finally, here is a shot of Stephanie helping Christine down the slide...

Phew... well I think that about does it - that catches you all up with what we've been up to! Now it's well past my bedtime so I'm about to head to bed. Goodnight!
