Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Although it's been nice to have a break from the humidity over the past couple of days, there has definitely been a lot of rain (to be honest though, I really don't mind - I find it cozy). Saturday morning between rain bouts, Maja & I headed out to Grandma's place for a little visit. We ate apples, squished ants, played with toys and blew bubbles. Here's a shot of Grandma blowing a bubble right into Maja's hand, much to her delight...
After her lunchtime nap, Maja had a visit from Teta Linda (or "Crazy Teta" as we've now started to call her - including Maja). Maja & Teta did some shopping together which let Marvin & I have a bit of time to ourselves. I puttered around the house while Marvin caught up on some work. After getting back from their shopping spree, Maja hung out with Marvin & I while Teta made us a yummy dinner of chicken parm, caesar salad, garlic bread and tortellini - thanks Crazy Teta! :) While Maja was playing with me in the living room, Marvin started singing to her from the other room. Here's the look of delight Maja had when she heard her Daddy...
One of Maja's newest hobbies is to sort things. She loves to sort her gift cards, stickers, her "Little People" family and now poker chips. She literally spent about 45 minutes yesterday afternoon stuck in front of the couch moving the coloured chips from container to container and then sorted them by colour. Here's a shot of Maja in mid-sort...
Today is the day around the world (I think) that children and mother's celebrate the wonderful job that father's do in raising their children. And here in Etobicoke there's no exception! This morning Maja woke up and gave her Daddy a big kiss and squishy hug along with a special scrapbooking page and card she did just for him. After some yummy oatmeal with strawberries and applesauce for breakfast, it was time to head out to church. Here's a picture of Maja and Daddy heading off to church together...
Then after mass we (Daddy, Marvin, Bakica & I) went to a local restaurant for some good ol' fashioned breakfast (no we didn't eat two breakfasts... only Maja had breakfast before church). As we waited for breakfast to arrive, Maja gave her gift to Daddy (which was more a gift for herself, but that's ok - great idea Bakica!!!) of a tool set complete with tool belt and cool tools. Here's a shot of Maja saying "wooooow" when Daddy showed her the saw...
The rest of the afternoon was spent with a little napping (by everyone in the family), going for a family wagon ride around the neighbourhood, and a nice visit from Dida. Maja did her usual hamming it up for company and stuck a slew of Princess stickers onto Dida's socks!

So to all the father's out there (especially to Grandpa who is missed today as he's still in New Zealand), Maja & I would like to wish you all a very
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
Thanks for everything you have done for all of us, the things you continue to do and of course for the things that we aren't even aware that you do for us! We love you!

And because it's so cute, here's a video of Crazy Teta Linda teasing Maja last night at dinner with a piece of garlic bread...
