Yes, Yes, Yes, I Know I Haven't Updated in 9 Days...

Maja & I have been busy living life to the fullest... stopping to smell the roses... enjoying our time together... so I haven't had a chance to update the blog. But your reward for waiting so long (and might I point out that it has only been 9 days... whatever did you all do before I started blogging?!?!) is a whole bunch of photos for you.

So what exactly have we been up to the past week and a half? Well, last Tuesday Maja got to spend some good quality time with Bakica hanging out at the local Loblaws having coffee and chatting with the ladies (and anyone else Maja happened to walk up to). Here's a shot of the official hand off of Maja to Bakica (they headed upstairs for some girl talk while I ran around Maja-free doing the grocery shopping - a fair trade if you ask me)...
After I finished my shopping I snuck upstairs to see how things were going and I learned that Maja has now discovered how to climb up onto her stroller. Great, next it will be the grocery cart and when I say "No" Maja will have a fit and then I'll be the mom that other moms are feeling sorry for and that non-kid folks will be cursing under their breath about how I can't control my child - but I digress...
As usual, Maja was the hit of the Cafe. Here's a shot of two complete strangers who came up to Maja and started chatting with her. She's such a social butterfly this one...
Then it was time to head back home. As you can tell by the smile on her face, Bakica really enjoyed herself...
Ahhh, but what would a trip to Loblaws be without bumping into our favourite Self-Scan supervisor, Rita?!? Rita sees Maja on average once or twice a week and has really taken a liking to her (Rita has a grand-daughter that is only a couple of weeks older than Maja). Here is a shot of Maja picking up the scanner and throwing Rita a look as if to say "Oh yes I will pick up that scanner, thank you very much!"...
Then later that afternoon, Teta stopped by for a quick visit (she really misses her roomie, and oh yeah, Marvin & I too - yeah right!). Here Teta is putting her Tiffany bracelet on Maja (which Maja then proceeded to chew on)...
Then after our impromptu visit from Teta, we headed off to visit Grandma & Grandpa. It didn't take long for Maja to demand that Grandma give her an apple, some sunglasses, some stuffed animals and place her on her bed. Ahhh, poor Grandma is wrapped around little Maja's finger...
Here's a shot of me playing around with Maja (and her squealing with delight)...
Then Maja biting my nose to say thanks...
After all that socializing the day before, Maja thought it fit to spend some time at home outside on Wednesday. Here she had climbed onto the lounge chair out back for a quick snooze (either that or she's listening for the ocean, I'm not sure)...
And what better end to a relaxing day than sitting on the couch reading with Daddy...
On Thursday, because it was a beautiful crisp fall day and I hadn't been to the gym in a while, I packed Maja up and walked up to Bakica's place (about a 35 minute walk each way). As usual, Maja had a great time at Bakica's. Here's a great shot of Baka chasing Maja through the living room...
Then a priceless shot of Bakica caught in the act of saying "Ohhhhh, I could just eat you!"... On Friday, Grandma came over for a visit so that I could get things ready for our dinner with our friends Jen & Larry (and I unfortunately didn't get a picture of our guests, alone or with Maja... sorry guys!). Here Maja is heading off to open the front door herself hardly able to contain her excitement about heading off to Starbucks with Grandma while I was running errands...
Maja stopping to chat with the man trapped in the newspaper box, poor guy...
Maja ruining the colour display of apples by moving a red one over to the green ones - always causing trouble, this one...
Of course, after all that walking around outside, Maja was getting hot (or at least Grandma was looking at Maja dressed up in all those layers). So we stripped off Maja's sweater - apparently she has Teta's large head...
Maja showing off her new climbing skills on the ottoman...
And the chair...
On Saturday, Marvin, Maja & I headed up the street to check out an open house like any warm-blooded, nosy neighbour would. Here's one of my favourite shots of Marvin & Maja. It's almost as if I can hear him saying "You know Maja, life is going to be hard sometimes, but I'll always be here for you when you need me"...
Then fast forward to yesterday... Grandma came by for the day (thanks again Mom, I really appreciate your dropping everything to help me out). Of course, what better way to spend time with Grandma than exploring the outdoors. Here Maja is trying to peer through the fence to see if our neighbours were hanging out in their backyard...
And Maja showing Grandma what made the loud bang noise from the other room...
Then last night it was time for Maja to great ready to go trick-or-treating for the first time (although Maja did get dressed up last year, this was the first time she actually went door to door collecting candy for Marvin & I... I mean trick-or-treating). And of course, we couldn't just have one person help dress Maja in her two-piece costume (which literally consisted of just a pair of pants and a coat). Here you can see Maja has just resigned herself to the fact that everyone needed to help out! :)
Our cute little lion complete with pumpkin pail...
Maja raiding the neighbour's bowl of chocolate (that's my kid!)...
Maja and "Chuck the Contractor - aka Ernesto from down the street - comparing notes on which houses were handing out the "good stuff"...
And finally, a shot of Maja & Marvin this morning eating breakfast. Obviously Maja was not in the mood to have her photo taken that early in the morning...
