Ok... now that I've spent about 1/2 hour uploading all these photos, I have to type quickly...
Maja is down for her nap and I probably only have about 15 minutes max left! So here goes!
Last Saturday,
Maja, Marvin & I headed off to visit our friends Doug & Anna and to play in their 5
th Annual
Bocce Ball Tournament. Although neither Marvin or I are very good at
Bocce we somehow managed to come in 2
nd! And to recognize our achievement we each received a medal. Because we are lazy, Marvin & I haven't taken the time to put the medals away just yet so they're hanging on a door knob upstairs just outside
Maja's room. This fact, combined with
Maja's obsession with kissing everything lately, makes for a very cute morning ritual. Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you the daily "Kissing of the Medals"...
Maja has just recently learned how to put things (
ie. purses, fanny packs, towels, Pedro, etc) over her shoulder and seems to really get a kick out of it. Here's a shot of her with Grandma's purse over her shoulder as she shuffles across the hallway (I love the funny look on her face here)...

Here's a great shot of Marvin &
Maja on Monday when he came home for lunch. Like I've said so many times before, I love father/daughter shots...

On Monday,
Maja, Grandma & I headed off to
Michaels to go pick up some
scrapbooking paper. But on the way there,
Maja got an urgent phone call on her "cell phone" (aka Grandma's box of mints - I love the imagination coming through)...

We later found out that the call was from
Maja's stock broker and her investment (like the rest of us) was plummeting...

Then on Tuesday,
Maja & I headed off to High Park with Irene and her two kids,
Marko & Marina. Here a shot of
Maja & Marina playing on a bridge of some sort that bounced around a lot. Marina seems a bit confused as to why she can't move now that her dress is caught under her knee and
Maja seems to be looking at herself in the reflection (how vain!)...

Here's a cute shot of
Maja & Marina "chasing" each other from opposite sides of the fence (
ok so they weren't chasing each other they were just standing there... but they could have been chasing each other if they wanted to I'm sure)...

Remember in my last post I said that
Maja had stopped walking around? Well, no longer!
Maja is full out walking all over the place these days. Although she still has to master the getting up from sitting down on her own, once she's standing she's on the move. Just yesterday she walked over from one room to bring me a rattle. I
love it! Here's a shot of her showing off her walking skills to
Bakica on Tuesday afternoon...

Then after getting all tuckered out from walking everywhere,
Maja &
Bakica hung out a while in her room.
Maja literally spent about 15 minutes just taking things out of the box and passing them to
Bakica then putting them back into the box. Here's a shot of them playing together...

On Wednesday,
Maja had yet another
play date! This time, she had Stephanie, Christine &
Dashiell along with Alina & David over for a visit. It was the first time
Maja had seen David now that he was a year old and now that he had his first hair cut (very cute). Here is a shot of all the kids (and Alina) in the backyard. It's getting harder and harder to find a good picture of all the kids now that they're all so mobile (left to right: Christine,
Dashiell,
Maja, Alina & David)...

Here's a shot of David, looking a little bit nervous I must say, walking around the backyard with the walker we have...
Similar to how
Maja has changed her mind about walking, she's also changed her mind about saying "
hwoof". She's back to saying it more and more these days thanks to having a couple of pups around the house! Here is a shot of our new additions - the pup on the top is one that Grandma bought
Maja while we were at
Michaels on Monday and the pup on the bottom is one that David & Alina bought
Maja for her birthday...

And now for yesterday (gotta make this quick...
Maja has been awake from her nap now for about 10 minutes and she's getting a bit restless upstairs in her crib)! In the morning,
Maja had a special date with
Bakica. Given it was St. Roch day (a big day for Catholics in Croatia),
Bakica wanted to take
Maja to church with her in the morning. So because it was such a special day (St. Roch day and her first official "date" with
Bakica in the truck),
Maja wanted to get all dressed up. Here is a shot of her sitting by the front door in her white dress, complete with white sandals and ladybug
bracelet, waiting for
Bakica to arrive...

Here is a shot of
Maja and
Bakica just before they headed off to mass...

And finally (I'm coming
Maja!!!), here is a shot of
Maja showing off her walking again yesterday afternoon. I think she's walking... or maybe she's "
bustin' a move" in her little dress - not sure...
