Hot Fun In The Summertime...

Yesterday morning Stephanie came over with her kids, Christine & Dash. Although the chit-chat was pleasant I have to say that wasn't the highlight of the visit (no offense, Steph, but I'm sure you'll agree)! Two other things were far more entertaining. First, Steph brought her top-secret "Super Brownie" recipe so we could make very yummy chocolate-chocolate chip brownies for snacking on (probably the best tasting brownies I've ever tasted). I mean, what makes a day worth getting up for more than chocolate?!?

And second, Christine & Maja were very cute together! Ok, so they were more that cute, they were űber cute! As we all know, Maja loves to kiss things... be it a stuffed animal, Daddy, Grandma, Bakica, inanimate objects, blowing kisses to strangers, whatever! Maja just loves to kiss! So yesterday as Stephanie and the kids were packing up getting ready to leave, I asked Maja to give Christine a kiss goodbye. I guess I had to be a bit more specific, because I meant for Maja to give Christine a kiss on the cheek, but Maja thought I meant a kiss on the lips! :) Anyhow, here is a series of photos that show the kiss in "slow-motion". First, Maja & Christine make eye contact and move towards each other...
Then a last minute check by Christine to make sure they were lined up...

And then... smack! I love how Christine's eyes are closed whereas Maja's are not. Apparently, Maja doesn't yet know that your eyes should be closed when you kiss - we'll sit down with her today to go over kissing etiquette with her...
And what was Dash (aka "The Dash Man" or "Dashasauras" because he's almost a full 19 pounds at only 5 months old - Maja was 19 when she was 9 months old) doing while the make out session was taking place?!? Just chilling, looking a bit hurt that nobody was kissing him...
Then yesterday afternoon, Bakica came over for a visit. While Daddy was busy away wood-working and I was snapping pictures, Bakica took Maja for a ride on a bogey-board that Teta gave us the other day. As you can tell, Maja thoroughly enjoyed being pulled around the backyard (looks like we'll have to get a wagon and a toboggan for her for sure!)...
Once the Bakica rides ended (poor Bakica was so hot after dragging Maja all around the backyard in the sweltering heat for so long), Maja sat down and thought she'd help Daddy out a bit. Here she is trying to open the package of drill bits for him...
