A Busy Weekend...

So much to talk about... where do I start?!? On Saturday morning, Maja & I had a nice visit with our friends Casey & Liam for a couple of hours. Although Maja was excited to see her "Valentine", Liam, she was playing hard to get. She was a bit moody by the end of the play date and was in no mood to give hugs or kisses to either Casey or Liam, thank you very much! It was so sad to see... poor Liam kept walking over to Maja with open arms looking for a hug and she'd just grunt "nooooo!" and then walk away. A woman's prerogative I suppose.... Anyhow, here's a shot of Maja checking out Liam's singing puppy telling Liam yet again that he can't have a hug (Liam looks so upset by the news)...After deciding that she wasn't going to take a nap (apparently a growing trend these days...), Maja invited Bakica over for a visit. And of course, Maja had to choose just the right outfit for her visit with Bakica. What could be better than her "bakaball pat" (aka basketball pants, because they're black like the ones she wore to the Raptors game way back in January) and her denim ladybug dress that Bakica gave her last week?!? And look how her outfit shows off the new purse that Bakica brought for her...
Then on Sunday afternoon, Maja had a nice visit with Dida. Marvin & Dida were chatting about something that Maja didn't find too enthralling (you know how grown up conversations can be...) for a couple of minutes, so she thought she'd head out into the hallway and try to pick up the sun rays off the floor...
Unfortunately, Teta wasn't able to stop by this weekend to see Maja, but that doesn't mean that Maja wasn't thinking of her. So in honour of Teta, here's a photo of Maja during her bath on Sunday night as a tribute to Teta and her fascination with giving Maja a mohawk...
On Monday, Maja had her 18-month (where does the time go?!?) check-up at the doctor's. But before heading off with me & Grandma, Maja grabbed a bit of fruit salad for breakfast wearing her newest accessory, her backpack...
And with regards to the check-up, apparently Maja has shrunk 1/2 an inch and is now 33 1/2 inches tall (aka the nurse didn't take the right measurement at either this time or last) and she weighs 27 pounds (up 9 ounces from 3 months ago). All in all, Maja handled the whole vaccination thing much better this time around (aka no blood curdling screams and cries like last time)... she didn't cry at all after the first needle, and only cried for about 30 second after the second one. What a trooper!
Today, Maja and I headed out to enjoy the snow before her morning nap (and no that doesn't mean there was an afternoon one today - *sigh*). When we headed out the back, Maja had yet another visitor - her "hno-ma" (aka snowman). This time, the snowman came bearing gifts of "yucky" (aka Marmite) for Maja...
But at Maja's insistence, the snowman took a mouthful of the black tar-like substance before she would. And alas, here was the devastating result...
Seeing that Marmite obviously had cryptonite-like powers against evil, Maja thought it would be best to bring it along on her wagon ride for protection...One of Maja's most recent talents is flying. And because a photo doesn't do it justice, here's a short clip of Maja taking off in the living room (and in case you're wondering what the triangle frame is from... because Maja isn't too keen on having her photo taken these days I had to hide the camera in a picture frame)...

And from our walk this morning, here's a clip of Maja shovelling our driveway. If you listen carefully, you'll hear Maja say shovel, then "ahhn" (which is Anne our neighbour) and then a very quiet shovel again...

Thank you for saving us from the evilness that is Marmite. Can you believe your mother made me eat some in high school? I think she was trying to poison me to prevent me from telling certain stories about her.....
Thank goodness you are here to protect us all.
