Ok... I know over the past week Maja & I have been up to a lot of things, but because I am still suffering from baby brain (although I have heard that only lasts up to 8 months and then after that moms are just brain dead...) I can't really remember what we did. So I'm going to have to try and use the photos I have to remind me.
Last Monday, Maja & I headed off to Mississauga to pick up Grandma so she could come over for a visit with us. On the way back to our house, Maja thought she smelt sometime like "ca-ca". After determining that it wasn't her, Grandma or me, Maja thought she better check the bottom of her boot to see if she stepped in something without noticing. Lucky for her, nothing was there...

Although Maja enjoys playing with all kinds of toys (those for both boys and girls), I have to say her favourite toy is really an accessory - her purse (or "puss" as she calls it). Other than asking for an apple the moment she wakes up, her finding her purse and slinging it over her arm is the most predictable thing she does. And trust me, once that purse is on, it takes some serious negotiating to get it away from her (even at nap time)! She will walk around the house for hours with it. Anyhow, here is a picture from last Monday of her (and of course her purse) checking out the tool room drawer set...

Tuesday was the first Aquafit class for Maja & I (it was actually the 4th one of 9 but because we signed up late and then because Maja was sick we hadn't been able to make it out before then). Maja really enjoyed being back in the water. Ever since then, she's been talking about the "pooa" (aka pool) and wearing her "seew-it" (aka bathing suit)! I can't wait to take her back again tomorrow!
Wednesday (I think), Maja & I got together with Steph, Christine & Dash for a playdate. Now what did we do again? Did we go to the mall? I don't think so... Did we go to over to their place?I don't think so... oh I think we went to Ikea - yep, we went to Ikea and bought some mirrors (I think)...
Then on Thursday, I'm sure we did something that was fun. Can't remember though what it was... maybe it was just top secret and I'm not at liberty to divulge that information. :)
Then on Friday we just hung out at home (probably exhausted from all the crazy stuff we did Thursday that, again, I can't talk about). :) Here's a shot of Maja hanging out in the kitchen playing with her "backaball ticki" (aka basketball tickets) and hamming it up for me...

On Saturday, we had
Maja G (and her parents of course) over for dinner. It was great to see Maja G (or Gracie as her Daddy calls her - how cute) and Maja C play together! At first they were a bit hesitant but then after warming up, there was no stopping them. They were in to everything together! Here's a shot I snagged of them hanging out by the gate desperately trying to climb over it - Maja G has a mouthful of apple and Maja C is obviously upset with my interruption to their mischief...

Yet another shot of them looking guilty...

And then of course, what else would the Majas have in common other than their names, their birthdays, their mothers' wedding dresses, their dresses, but their kitty-cat pjs...

Thanks again to Maga G (and her parents) for Maja's Christmas gift... a Cabbage Patch Doll! It just brings back my childhood memories! :) And Cynthia, I hope you're not offended, but we opted to call her "Lucy" instead of "Cynthia". Partly because Maja can't say Cynthia yet and partly because she won't stop calling her Lucy! :)
Sunday was a day of hanging around playing with Daddy. I think one of my favourite sounds in the world (aside from the sound of the ice-cream truck in the middle of the summer, but I digress) is the sound of Marvin & Maja laughing together. I love how they enjoy each other so much!
Then today, Grandma came by for another visit. In addition to Maja's ever expanding vocabulary, I am amazed at the things that Maja remembers. Last week sometime (see, I don't even remember when), Maja & I were watching Go Diego Go. In this particular episode, Diego was helping an ostrich. Well, wouldn't you know it... almost a week after that show, I bought her a wooden puzzle with an ostrich on it. As soon as I showed it to her, Maja picked up the ostrich, pointed to the TV and said "Go, Go, Go" (aka Go Diego Go). What a memory! Anyhow, here's a picture of Maja with her new puzzle...

Here's a shot of Maja playing peek-a-boo (I think) with Grandma around the corner of our bedroom. It's not the best picture (no offence Grandma) because of the wall on the right side, but I love it. I love the look in her eyes and the little grin she has (please note the purse on her arm)...

Then when I came home from having lunch with my friend Lucy (no, not Maja's Cabbage Patch Doll) downtown, it was time to make a snowman with Maja in the front yard. Here's a shot Grandma took of us making it - I love Maja's little tongue sticking out...

And finally, we have to keep our little furry and feathered friends fed during the winter, so Maja & I headed out back to top up Maja's bird house/feeder...

Last Wednesday you and Maja and Christine, Dash and myself went to Dixie Mall for shopping and a lunch date - not Ikea! How could you not remember the flying Elephant and Maja's terror of being put in it! And Maja and Christine holding hands again, oh and of course the rude lady at Mr Sub! I'm sorry that these memories weren't as special to you as they were to us - now I have to go break the news to the kids that they aren't memorable :)
Uh-oh Erin! I think you touched a raw nerve there with Steph! Good thing you guys are such great friends!!! As for me, I'm not sure, I'm pretty hurt that the doll's name is Lucy! Oh Well!!! I guess I just have to suck it up!!! :) Absolutely love the pics of the girls!!! They're great! Thanks again for a great dinner & visit!
