Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

I Know, I Know, I Know...

It's been over a week since I last posted! What can I say?!? Maja & I have been busy entertaining, playing with Daddy, ringing in the new year, setting resolutions (Maja, not me) and various other non-blogging things. But I'm sure you don't really care... you just want to see photos, don't you? :)

During the day on New Year's Eve, Maja & I had a play date with Casey & Liam. The two lovebirds exchanged gifts (a great new book, The Gruffalo, for her and a snazzy new outfit for him) and played with Maja's new toys; while Casey & I exchanged yummy chocolate goodies (chocolate caramel shortcake bars for her and Skor-bar cookies for me). And of course, what would a play date with Liam be without a kiss?!? So here you go - a nice shot of Liam going for gold... Then later that night we had Doug, Anna & Emily (or Emee as Maja calls her now) over for an early count down. We had a nice dinner and a great time watching Maja & Emily play together. Part way through the evening Maja decided that she wanted to dress up her outfit a bit so we headed upstairs and found this "accent" to her jeans and t-shirt (it's her UV swimsuit and matching cap)...
Then to celebrate the new year, Marvin & Maja headed out to the backyard after all the pretty snow fell to make Maja's 1st snowman. I tried to upload the video I took of the two of them here but for some reason I can't - it only appears at the bottom of the blog. So, if you want to see Marvin & Maja in action, scroll down to the end of the blog and check out the video.
On Wednesday, Grandma & Grandpa came over for a bit. Maja was very excited to see them and was quick to start showing off her new toys to them. Here Maja & Grandma are using Maja's new Magna-Doodle that she got from Auntie (or "Ah-tee" as Maja is calling her these days)...
And then a shot of Maja showing Grandpa (more like trying to persuade him to read) her new Dora the Explorer book (she loves this book and makes me read it to her at least 7 times a day - I can now recite the book off by heart in both Spanish and English)...
Then it was time for Maja to kick Grandma's butt in Scrabble (ok so it was me playing Grandma and she won, but only because we called the game early)...
Later in the day Maja, ahem, I mean Super-Maja and her trusty sidekick Super-Pedro made a special appearance in the Living Room (I can no longer use the polka dot facecloth to wash Maja's face after eating because she gets upset and thinks that using Pedro's cape for such a purpose is a disgrace)...
One of Maja's latest tricks is to show off her eyes. I don't know where she got it from, but when you ask her to show you her eyes, this is the face she makes - she cracks me up...
And below is the video that I mentioned earlier of Marvin & Maja making Maja's 1st snowman (or "hno-ma" as she calls it)...
