Love Was In The Air...

As I'm sure all of you remember, Valentine's Day was last Thursday. And in case any of you were wondering whether or not Maja was aware of what that day meant, she sure was! In the afternoon, Maja had a special delivery of a single, long-stem rose from one "Mr. Romance" himself (her boyfriend, Liam)! Liam's mom was working her second job that afternoon as a florist delivery lady (shoot... I forgot to tip her - sorry Casey!) and stopped by to drop off the rose personally. The enclosed card read "Please be Maja Valentine, hugs and a kiss, your friend Liam". Wait, wait - it gets better... Casey then told me that in the morning when she asked Liam if he could say Valentine, he turned to her and said "Maja"! How cute is he?!? I love it! Anyhow, here is a picture of Miss Maja standing on the couch showing off her beautiful rose (and of course, carrying her hat as a purse)...Friday morning, Maja and I headed over to Grandma & Grandpa's for an impromptu visit (we were also delivering some fudge to Grandpa to help cheer him up). Of course the visit was full of toys and chatting, but one of my favourite things from that visit was to see Maja and Grandpa playing together (Maja is quite smitten with her Grandpa). Here's a shot of them peeking at each other through the doll house... Then, in an attempt to show off for Grandpa, Maja thought she'd climb into the toy chest all by herself. In this picture you can see her gymnastic-like form (and no, Grandpa isn't helping her, he's just the spotter)...
And then voila...
Ok, so she didn't really climb into the toy box herself. Although I'm sure if we left her there long enough she would have made it in eventually! While Grandpa headed off to visit a friend, Grandma, Maja & I went to the local Superstore. But of course, what would a trip to the Superstore be without a purchase?!? Here Maja is modelling the new hat that I bought her (a steal at only $5 - now really... I ask you... how could I not buy it?!?) and the new pair of rain boots Grandma bought her...
On Saturday afternoon, Marvin and I called in Grandma to babysit so that we could go out together on a date! :) We first went to see a movie (No Country for Old Men - and we both liked it - although I had a hard time sleeping that night because I kept picturing the creepy guy sitting in our room just watching us, but I digress) and then we went to dinner. We had a great time (thanks Grandma). And what was our little princess up to while we were out? She was having a great time with Grandma exploring all kinds of things. I swear, when Grandma comes over it's almost as if Maja sees the house in a different way and everything is so much more interesting to her. Here's what I mean... there was an old Pepsi box that was sitting by the back door for a couple of days and Maja didn't really pay any attention to it. But as soon as Grandma comes over, the box turns into a boa constrictor that wrapped itself around her legs (don't worry... the "boa" was later disassembled into a flat mess and Maja escaped unharmed)! See what I mean...
Last night, Maja, Marvin & I headed over to Doug & Anna's house to visit Emily (or "Emmee" as per Maja) and for some dinner. It was cute to watch Maja and Emily play around together and of course, chat each other up. Here's a shot of Maja and Emily hanging out eating fruit in the kitchen (I'd like to point out that Emily was able to not only peel her own orange, but she was also able to put the peel into the composter by herself too!)...
Then this morning, Marvin had to do a little bit of work from home. But in honour of Family Day, Maja thought it would be nice if they did a bit of work together, you know, as a family...
Then after having her morning nap, Maja drove Marvin & I (she uses a booster seat) out to the big ol' city of T.O. to visit Teta! We had a nice visit which included a yummy pizza lunch (complete with garlic dip and cheesy bread), some yummy cake and ice cream for dessert and some C-Plus to wash it all down. After stuffing ourselves silly, we headed out to watch people skate near the lake and then hung out around Queens Quay for a bit. Here's a cute shot of Maja (and Pedro) waiting expectantly for Teta to "make" lunch for them...

Just before she headed to bed, Maja told me that she's very excited about going swimming tomorrow (hopefully we won't have another "pool fouling" like we did the other week - apparently some kid in one of the earlier classes had an "accident" and they had to drain the pool...). Maja's excited because she hasn't been in a couple of weeks (she was sick then the fouling happened), because she gets to wear her "s-eww-t" and because Bakica will be joining us.
