Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

I Would Have Blogged Earlier...

But we have been shovelling snow for the past 5 days and only now did we finish! Ok, I love the snow, but we're starting to get a bit concerned as to where we're going to keep putting it! :)

Now the real reason we haven't posted in almost a week is because sickness has hit our household and to be honest it has been the last thing on my mind! Last Thursday, I started to feel a bit sick and then by Friday morning I was feeling so miserable that I had to call in reinforcements (thanks Grandma)! Then it turned out that little Miss Maja had a fever of 101 or so by lunch time which continued into the wee hours of Saturday morning. Her fever actually hit just over 103 at one point and she was not giving us more than an hour of sleep at a time. Saturday afternoon I started to feel a bit better but even though her fever was gone, Maja was still acting sick. Then on Sunday I was pretty much back to normal, Maja was getting better but Marvin noticed that he wasn't feeling so great. That brings us to yesterday when Marvin came down with a fever while at work and then he worked from home today. Top all that off with the fact that Grandma seems to have caught whatever we all had and apparently my sister's family is all sick (in one format or another) too! What is going on?!?! :)

Anyhow, enough about our snotty noses, sore throats and high temperatures, here are a couple of photos I managed to snap (as did Grandma) over the past couple of days. Here Maja is showing Grandma that markers are not just for drawing on paper, they're for drawing on tables too. Maja is also trying to set a world record apparently with how many she can hold at once...
Now I'm sure many of you and your families have cute little rituals that you do as a family, but do any of you have the "Hey, it's Saturday morning and we're going to dress alike" ritual like Maja & I...
Believe it or not, we really didn't try to dress alike (or match as Christine would say). I just hadn't changed out of my pjs yet and they happened to match Maja's outfit. Then later that morning, Teta stopped by to see the little munchkin and to bring her a Valentine's present (thanks again Teta, Maja has yet to put down her new purse). I wasn't there when Maja opened it up, but apparently her face just lit up when she saw the adorable little purse that Teta got her. You think she'd be content with just one new purse, but no! Maja hustled over to where Teta left her purse and strapped that one on too for good measure...
And finally, here's a shot of Maja grinning at the news that her lunch of yummy spinach and salmon (is this really my kid?!?) was prepared by her wonderful Bakica...
