Happy Anniversary, Happy Birthday and Happy 6-6-6 Day!

The Happy Anniversary part of today’s blog is two-fold. The first fold (?) is actually a day late (yes… the return of Brickell-Time yet again): Yesterday, Marvin and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary! Two whole years - it really is amazing how the time seems to go by slowly (in a good way) and quickly at the same time! To celebrate, we went to The Keg for a lovely dinner (I just loooove free bread and butter) and then went back home to reminisce by watching our wedding video (Marvin’s suggestion – see what a wonderful husband I have?). I have to say, one of the things that stood out the most from the video (of course, aside from what a great time we had) was what I looked like before being pregnant. I mean, I know what I looked like before, but it seems like it’s been so long since I looked that way and to see myself walking around without a big belly, really stuck me. Here’s hoping I’ll get back to that someday! :)

The second fold / part is that today is the 23rd wedding anniversary of our good friends, Pete and Liz. Okay, so it’s not really their 23rd anniversary, but Pete is always going on about how long it feels like he and lizard have been married, so I figure it’s got to be somewhere around 23 years. Just kidding, Liz, he’s never said anything of the sort. Anyhow, Happy Anniversary to you both!

The Happy Birthday part of today’s blog goes out to Liz (the one above). She turns 19 today! :) So Happy Birthday Liz!

And finally, the Happy 6-6-6 Day goes out to all you horror movie fans. Today is the release date for the remake of The Omen. Everywhere I turn I hear people talking about it from mothers-to-be blogging about how bad it would be to give birth today, to people lining up to get married today (hopefully because it’s an easy date to remember as opposed to the Satanic reference) to people not going to work because they are afraid something horrible will happen. So in case there are some 6-6-6 people out there reading this blog, Happy 6-6-6 Day to you!

Now back to the real reason for the website… Baby Bav. This past weekend, Marvin and I went crib shopping and bought Baby Bav a crib and a change table (I’m sure Baby Bav is relieved that it can now sleep somewhere other than the drawer in it’s bedroom closet (padded with blankets, of course… do you think we’re heart-less?) and that it will have a soft cushy spot for it’s bum when we change it). Not only did we buy the crib and change table, we also put them together and set them up in the room. It’s a bit strange to walk up the stairs and see the crib in the room though… strange but exciting at the same time. When we were browsing in one store, the sales rep commented that there’s an 8-12 week lead-time needed for every order. That alone didn’t freak meet out, it was hearing myself say that that wouldn’t work for us because I’m due in about 11 weeks. Eleven weeks! Holy Crap! :)

So other than the Anniversaries, the Birthday, the 6-6-6 launch, and the crib adventures, not much else is new. Tomorrow is our 30-week appointment with the doctor, so maybe something exciting will happen there. Maybe one of the other mothers waiting ever so patiently in the waiting room for the doctor to finally call her name after being there for three hours when her appointment was 2½ hours ago will go into labour or something. I’ll keep you posted!
