Baby Bav - Part I

I figured a good place to start would be to formally introduce you to Baby Bav. So Blogger, this is Baby Bav.... Baby Bav this is today's Blogger (it just kicked "nice to meet you").

In this picture, Baby Bav was a mere 13 weeks old. For some it may be hard to see the baby through the black, white and grey parts, so to help you out I'll try to describe what you're looking at. Baby Bav is laying on its back so it is looking up. Its head is on the right hand side and its leg area is on the left, so you're looking at the left side of its face and torso. If you look carefully, you can see the whiter parts of the face (bones appear whiter in the ultrasounds), which are the forehead, eye sockets and the upper and lower jaw.

At this stage, Baby Bav had a beating heart, a brain, tiny arm and leg buds, finger nails, external ears, an upper lip (not sure where the lower lip went) and its eyelids were starting to fuse shut. It weighed about an ounce and was about the length of an adult's thumb.
