Did You Feel That?

Can you believe it? Today is the first day of my sixth month! In some ways the time really flies and in other ways it drags! It seems so long ago when we first found out we were expecting, but at the same time I can't believe before the summer is up we'll be parents!

At this point, there's not much new in Baby Bav land. He/she is about 7 or 8 inches long and weighs about a pound or so, and I'm starting to feel the baby move around a lot more. Sometimes there's some serious moving around in there for a good couple of minutes at a time that I'm convinced it's building a deck in preparation for the nice weather (or maybe a concrete slab to do somersaults on, right Sara?)! And sometimes the movements are so strong that I'm convinced that Marvin can feel them. So of course I tell him this, he comes over, puts his hand on my belly and patiently waits. Here's how our conversation goes... (E) Did you feel that? (M) Nope. (E) How 'bout that? (M) Nope. (E) Anything? (M) Nope. (E) That one was pretty good, how about that one? (M) Nope... can I have my hand back? :) He's such a patient man!

A number of you have asked if I have much of a belly yet, and the answer is yes... the belly is growing! So far I've gained about 11 pounds (I'm considering myself lucky with only 11 pounds seeing I've been eating junkfood somedays like it's going out of style). I do have a belly shot from 15 weeks and again from 21 weeks. However, I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to actually post them on the internet. I'll take another look at them and we'll see.....
