Strange Pregnant Lady Dreams...

I've always heard about pregnant women having really strange dreams and counted myself lucky to have not experienced any. But just as luck would have it, last night it happened... I had my first really vivid, disturbing, strange pregnant dream.

I dreamt that I was in the hospital (which coincidentally looked a lot like my bedroom at home - wouldn't that be nice?) hooked up to an IV sleeping. When I woke up there was a little bassinet-like thing that had a 'baby' all wrapped up in it sleeping. But, when the nurse came in to see how I was doing, she picked up the 'baby' and it wasn't a baby at all... it was my childhood cat, Tina (who has now been dead for almost 10 years). I had given birth to a black cat (spit, spit, spit - for those of you who are superstitious)! I was confused as to how me carrying a cat instead of a child had gone unnoticed during the ultrasounds, but sure enough when the nurse showed me the picture from the latest one (20-weeks) it was a cat... I apparently had just not noticed! What kind of a mother will I be? :) I was so disappointed that I had gone through the entire pregnancy just for a cat that I could have adopted from the local Humane Society! But, I did feel that having a cat with four paws inside me explained why there was so much kicking during the pregnancy.

It was then time to leave the hospital, so I started getting dressed and it turned out that I fit into my old jeans right away (a bit of a pouch on the belly, but nothing unmanageable)! I was so excited with myself that I just kept staring in the mirror. When I finally turned around, there were Stacey and Clinton from TLC's "What Not To Wear" along with their camera crew. They explained that my jeans were very outdated and that they would come back next year to address my wardrobe! Then the alarm went off.

I'll admit, the first thing I did this morning when I went downstairs was look at the latest ultrasound picture on the fridge to see whether or not there was any resemblance to a cat. Nothing I could see, so things seem to be ok. :)

You make me laugh! Poor Tina knowing that she wasn't good enough to justify 9 months of pregnancy. I love how intricate these dreams can be. Please continue to share!
