Travelling Maja...

This morning Maja & I went for a nice walk with Stephanie and her two kids (Christine & Dash) up to the Shoppers Drug Mart and to pay a visit to the local Starbucks (its business has apparently been suffering ever since Grandma has been on vacation...). It was nice out because it was around 10:30 when we went and it hadn't got too sticky and humid yet. As usual, Maja & I had a great time hanging out with Steph and the gang - can't wait to meet up again guys!

Lately, Maja has been in some sort of transition with her naps. For the longest time, Maja would nap 3 times a day each time for about 45 minutes. Then for almost a full week last week, she switched to just napping 2 times but for between 1 1/2 and 2 hours long (heaven I tell you!!!). But, as per usual, just when I think she's settling into a pattern she pulls the carpet out from under me! Today she only had two 45 minute naps and didn't nap from 2:00pm onwards. Usually after having been awake for anything more than 2 hours she is pretty cranky, but that wasn't the case today. Who knows what she's up to!

Anyhow, I thought I'd post a picture I took of Maja this afternoon that made me laugh. I put her down on her mat between the pillows (I'm such a paranoid 1st time mom that I'm still surrounding her with pillows to break her fall even though she's been sitting up since she was 5 months old or so) with her tub of toys in front of her and then came over to the computer to do a couple of things. Every time I looked up she was just sitting there entertaining herself with a new toy that she removed from the tub. Well... after about 15 minutes I noticed that she had casually shuffled from the mat over to the jolly jumper (leaving a trail of discarded toys behind her as you can see) and was trying to pull herself up using the jumper frame. Ok, so maybe this isn't such a funny photo to you guys, but to me the trail of discarded toys, the fact that she ended up 3 feet away from where I left her (yet she doesn't crawl and can't walk on her own), and the "Me...no-I'm-not-up-to-anything!" look on her face made me chuckle...
