Maja the Magnet, Part 2

As you may remember, when Marvin & I took Maja to a Raptors game last month, Maja was quite popular with the celebrities... she met the Zagreb Snowflakes, Rick Mercer and Leo Rautins. Well, wouldn't you know it?!? Maja met yet another celebrity just about an hour ago!

There we were at Chapters Sherway picking up a book ("101 Ways to Attract Celebrities", if you really must know...) when we turned around and looked up (and I mean waaaaay up) and saw Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors! I couldn't believe our luck! So what did we do? Well we walked over to him and his girlfriend (I assume it was his girlfriend), apologized for the interruption and asked him if he'd mind giving us his autograph! Ok, so it didn't really go as smoothly as that. I'm such a geek that I got all nervous and got tongue tied. I think my exact words to him were, "Excuse me... I'm sorry to bother you but I'm Chris... oh no, sorry, you're Chris Bosh! We are big fans of yours and I was wondering if I could bother you for an autograph for my daughter here (and pointed to Maja who was just starring, grinning completely mesmorized by Chris )... ok really the autograph is for me (insert sheepish grin, blushing and shuffling of the feet here)". He said sure and I frantically tried to think of something that I could get him to sign. To be honest, my first thought was to have him sign Maja - or maybe her shirt, I can't really remember which... either way it was a stupid thought... :) Anyhow, the only thing I could come up with was the book that we just bought for someone else. So now I have a book for someone else autographed to Maja by Chris Bosh. Like I'm going to give that book away now... so what did I do - I ordered another book! :)

Any from that point on, I've been kicking myself.... why didn't I have my camera with me (sorry mom, I know I'm an embarrassment to you right now...)? Why did I stammer and almost introduce myself as Chris Bosh to the real Chris Bosh? Why didn't I tell him how to spell Maja (as you see below, he spelt it Mya)? Why, oh why didn't I dress Maja in her Chris Bosh jersey today like I had originally planned? Stupid, stupid, stupid! :)

Anyhow, here is a picture of Chris' autograph as proof that I'm not lying...
